Competition: win a WW Armchair by Hayche

August 31, 2018

The latest Dezeen competition offers readers the chance to win a WW Armchair, part of the Colour Series created by Hayche and Brighton-based Studio Makgill.

Named Windsor and Wire as a nod to the collection's lines and materials, the WW Armchair – Colour Series, is the latest addition to Hayche's existing WW seating collection, and experiments with bold colours.

The armchair has been designed by Alejandro Villarreal, creative director and co-founder of Hayche, a London based furniture brand.

"The legs and seat are inspired by the classic lines of the Windsor chair, with the surface of the seat slightly curved for comfort," said Hayche.

"Shafts of six millimetre powder coating metal wire extend upwards from below the seat. They fan slightly outwards from their point of origin before meeting the wooden backrest. This gives the chair a sculptural quality and sense of lightness."

The brand launched its first collection in 2014, designed by studio Hierve, a consultancy based in Mexico City and London. It was established in 1999 by Alejandro Villarreal.

In 2015, the collection was developed to include furniture and accessories made in collaboration with designers such as Ptolemy Mann, John Tree, Jessica Nebel, and Tino Seubert.
